Shortly after The Great Flood, G-d directs Noah and his descendants to observe the following seven commandments.
- Idolatry - Monotheism.
- Blasphemy, not to curse G-d.
- Not to eat meat that came from an animal while it was still alive.
- Maintain courts to enforce these laws.
During the Giving Of The Torah, some eight-hundred years after Noah, the Jewish people will be charged to observe 613 commandments. The Seven Commandments will be re-established at that time through Moshe (Moses).
